My favourite season of the year!

 

What a peaceful few hours my little dog & I had meandering in the park filled with bird life & people strolling, jogging or picnicking, all enjoying a perfect autumn day....

 

As the sunshine gave warmth to a crisp day nearing the end of our autumn season here in Australia, a gentle breeze assisted mosaic coloured leaves spiral to the ground..... How I LOVE to kick my feet through the piles of crackling leaves, I'm sure it brings the small child in me out again!! As for my little doggy, Skeeta girl, she found many wonderful scents to roll in & ohhh so many places to explore......

De beauté partir de Cendres ~ Beauty from Ashes

It's been a while between visits, much has happened & my camera definitely has been clicking away, never a moment hardly without it but, I had to share these photos taken last month.

 

As the title of this post suggests, these were taken following a (grass) fire....

 

During January 2013 my beloved Skeeta girl was 'holidaying' in Mt Duneed, Victoria, whilst we were interstate, & there was a fire very close to her Pet Resort. Thankfully, no houses burnt even though was very close to some, BUT......

 

I did see, as I drove past, an opportunity to capture a kind of melancholy beauty of the charred remains......

 

 

A Thought For Each Day!

 

I had so much enjoyment capturing this crow taking a bath, splashing about for several minutes, in a pond on a warm day. I find it is a wonderful feeling to stop a while & recognise the simplicity of life & nature for which we take for granted. Like taking a very deep breath, exhaling slowly & calming the hum drum down.

We spent several minutes as if in a world alone, this bird & I, enjoying the miracle of life, unoticed by several passers by......

I was invited to go to my friend's to photograph her beautiful orchids. Unable to get there, she very kindly brought me a cutting.... I never had success in growing these!!
